Ford 5095 EVA conversion

The Ford 5095 was a special six-cylinder tractor conversion produced in Belgium by EVA, the company associated with Belgian Ford dealer Willy Everard. It was developed during a period when there was considerable demand, particularly in France, for a more powerful Ford tractor than the standard four-cylinder Ford 5000.

Rather than simply installing a larger engine, EVA engineered a special heavy cast-iron engine cradle or chassis. This was necessary because the Ford six-cylinder industrial engines were not designed to serve as a stressed structural component of a tractor in the same way as the original Ford 5000 agricultural engine.

The EVA frame allowed a Ford six-cylinder industrial diesel engine to be coupled to the transmission and rear axle assembly of the Ford 5000, creating a remarkably powerful tractor for its time.

The resulting Ford 5095 was rated at approximately 95 hp and was produced from around 1968 until 1975. Both two- and four-wheel-drive versions existed, with special driven front axles available on the 4WD tractors.

The 5095 therefore should not be regarded simply as a modified Ford 5000. It was a professionally engineered Belgian conversion, produced in cooperation with the Ford dealer network and marketed as a Ford tractor in several European countries.

Today the Ford 5095 is a relatively rare and historically interesting example of the European specialist Ford conversions of the 1960s and 1970s.
